COMP BUSINESS CARDS

Cat Vet is a one color piece done in Illustrator. Both the cat and the background mouse pattern were drawn with the pen tool. The font is Myriad Pro.


Super Heroes and Healthy Trees were both done in Photoshop. Both use the Gill Sans font family. The first using the pen tool, filters and various layer effects. The second using a photo and gradient overlays.

For Birdland I wanted a sweet feel so I used a pastel color palette and gentle gradients combined with hand drawn looking lines. The logo uses a combination of Futura Bold and Aspire.


The Crypt Diver card uses black in various ways to achieve interest. It needed to be dark but elegant at the same time. I used a vintage shape for the border and a texture and gradient on the center bar. The starburst in back was done with a gradient. The title is text on a path that has been shaded using a gradient. Fonts used were Aachen and Au Casablanca.


Plan Your Party used a pre-made Bokeh background. I drew the shape with the pen tool and shaded it with a gradient overlay. I used the decorative font Action Is for the logo.

The Transmet card was done in Photoshop using pattern and texture effects for the background. The shapes were created using the pen and shape tools. They were colored and shaded with layer effects and gradients. For this card I was looking for a combination of modern and retro, bright and subtle.


Blade Aeronautics used some of the art brushes available in Illustrator, along with gradients set at various blend modes. I used the Optima font family.


Florals started with line drawings of flowers. I then used a soft brush to paint in the color and shading of the petals. I chose the elegant decorative font Mona Lisa for the logo, adding various layer effects to make it float.

On this page I have created a series of business cards for fictitious businesses.

Orpheus and Mom’s use various shapes with pattern and gradient overlays in Photoshop. Orpheus uses the Futura font family while Mom’s uses Minion Pro.


Sandbar Realty was created in Illustrator using repeating shapes, a gradient and the classic font Palatino.

Citrus Mania was done in Photoshop using brushes, layer effects, texture and gradient overlays. I wanted it to feel both classy and juicy. The fonts are Gatsby and Gill Sans.


JewelTone Gems also makes use of pattern overlays and layer styles, as well as the 3D options available in Photoshop. Font family used is Futura.


Wilkens Landscaping was done in Illustrator. I was going for a fresh outdoor feel, but with structure. Font family used, Myriad Pro.


Mountainside Trailblazers was also done in Illustrator. This card uses 2 spot colors instead  of CMYK. The mountains were drawn using the pencil tool and a gradient was placed behind for the sky.

Font family used, Arial.

The backdrop for Golden Light was created in an online app called Imagination from neave.com. I wanted an etherial feel. Font Myriad Pro.


Twist Juice Bar was done in Illustrator using the pen and blend mode tools. Font used Vag Rounded for a fresh and friendly feel.


The ship for World Space was created with brushes using a Wacom Tablet in Photoshop. The background uses brushes and various layer effects. Font used is Futura.

Duplex was done in Photoshop using an assortment of specialty brushes, gradient, pattern overlays and various layer effects, blend modes and layer masks. Font family used Futura.


Phoenix Industries, also done in Photoshop using brushes, Pattern and color overlays. I wanted the logo to look as if it was red hot. Fonts used, Zapfino and Myriad Pro.


Dreams Come True is a one color card created in Illustrator. Fonts used, Au Casablanca and Bodega Sans.


Graphite Engineering was done in Photoshop using shapes, layer masks, layer effects, pattern and gradient overlays. I wanted a technical but approachable look. Fonts used Arial Rounded and Impact.

The background design for Widget was created in Illustrator using a combination of the pen and blend tools as well as the 3D effects available in the program. I then brought it into Photoshop to distort it to emulate what it would look like after it was embossed, die cut and folded. Fonts used Aachen and Myriad Pro.

The Bow and ribbon for Gift Wrap Pro were done in Illustrator. I then imported them into Photoshop where I added  a bit of noise to the gradients for a more textural feel. The backdrop was made with pattern and gradient overlays. I used fonts Zapfino and Georgia to add elegance.


Sock Circuit uses patterns, gradients and layer effects in the background as well as the text. Fonts, Balloon and Gotham.


The backdrop for Makers International was done in Photoshop using the shape tool along with pattern and gradient overlays. Layer effect were also used on the text. Fonts used Aachen, Universe Light Condensed and Arial.

Star Bowling was done with a Retro feel in mind. I used period colors and shapes as well as the classic font Rockwell. I used various layer effects, blend modes and masks as well as 3D effects.


Tin Wheel was done in Illustrator. I imported the textural background from a Photoshop file and added simple graphics and text. Font Myriad Pro.


Lava was done in Photoshop using several photos of lava and blending them together for the backdrop. A rectangle with gradients was placed on top with partial transparency to allow some of the texture to show through while making it easier to read the text. Fonts Tiki Sands and Myriad Pro also have textures and layer effects applied to them.


Tag Graphitti Removal uses a photo of a tagged wall that has been chopped up into pieces. A bar with gradients and layer effects was added to highlight the company name. Fonts Impact and Myriad Pro.
